History of Soccer

We, or maybe just I have heard that the first soccer league was made in England. That is true and that would make you think that England was the biggest and still is the biggest country about soccer. Actually, England was the first to ban soccer a while back(1300's). Japan were the soccer stars. They didn't play the exact same rules, but it was similar. After some time they threatened to put you in prison if you were caught playing soccer. Some people started moving to Rome because the Romans didn't have that law. It's sort of like the pilgrims leaving England for religious purposes, but this is english people leaving England for soccer. The latest date tracked back with people playing soccer is 1004B.C. That's before christ. Later people started protesting about the law of soccer and how you couldn't freely play it so the people tried making the law change, but failed. Later in the 1800's, England became what we think now. The birth place of Soccer( 1800's). The rules were authorized by The London Football Association. Major League Soccer was founded in 1993 and it's first season was in 1996. In 1991 soccer was extended to women's FIFA world cup.

Skills of Soccer

Skills of soccer can be devoloped by lots of training. If you don't know what soccer skills could possibly be read the rest of this paragraph. A goalkeeper skill could be practicing diving a lot. Soon that diving could become a skill. Or maybe cathing a ball no matter how hard the kick is. If you are a striker which is a forward you could be good at shooting with the correct strength, power, and accuracy. That's a skill. You could be playing midfeild. The wings could be good at crossing. The centers could be good at passing. Defense would be the easiest skill, if you can get enough power on the ball. The best you could do is pass or clear the ball. That needs power so you can either get the ball to the opposing team's keeper or their defense.

Strategies

There are lots of startegies in soccer. Let's start with caoching strategies. A firm formation with a firm starting line up is a good strategy. That is good because that line up could win you the game. A defender strategy could be attacking the player at the right time or letting him cross the ball and just mark your man( as long as you don't let him score). That could be good because if you leave your man and let him be open and they cross it before you can steal or black it, that extra player could score. Waiting for the right time to attack is the same. Don't leave your man unless they are in on goal and you have someone to mark your guy for you. Midfeild strategies would be easier. You could know when to pass the ball if someone is on you. That could work so that you can keep the ball moving up the feild in your possesion. A striker strategy is shooting at the right time. That way you can score a goal.

Training

There are lots of ways to train for the best player on the team. Let's start with the basic drills. Toe touches could be one to improve your dribbling. You keep the ball in one place and then you go left to right and you just touch the ball with your toes. Ther is also boxing. You place the ball between both of your legs and start hitting it left to right keeping it under your body. you should also just jog daily to keep your body in physical shape. Remeber to stretch before you jog. You also cod do a medium jog or sprint. Thoroughly practice your position at home. Play around with a soccer ball. Read the play book. Keepers can throw it up and catch it. Block a ball too.( that can go with defenders, but they can't use their hands.)

Moves/Tricks

There are lots tricks in soccer. Most of them aren't the best to use in real soccer games. I'll tell you the ones that are okay to use in a soccer game. The scizzor, step over, marodona, volley, bicycle, rainbow, and a 360 roulette. The scizzor is used when you are against a defender. You use one foot to move around the ball for a fake. Then you use the other foot to push the ball way with the outside of your foot. The step over is used when you are against a defender and you are in position to cross it. You use one foot to go around half way and skip to one direction. Don't go to far because now you have to use your other foot to push it the other way. The marodona is harder to explain. You put one foot on top of the ball and you put the other on the ground. Then you twist around facing the same direction you were facing before you put a foot on the ball. A 360 roulette is the same but you have both feet on the ball. A bicycle is when you do a back flip, but half way through you hit the ball and you are allowed to land on your back. The volley is the same but you do it on your side. A move that you don't want to use in a game is balancing two soccer balls on top of your head. You take one and balance it on your neck. The you take the other and try to keep it on your head.

Rules of Soccer

The main rule you should always know is to never use your hands unless you are a goalkeeper. The keeper can use their hands in side of the 18 yd box. If he goes out with the ball in his hands it's a foul. Another important rul is to never pass the ball to someone if they are past the last defender and in front of the keeper. That is called off sides. The opposing team will get a free kick if you do that unless you are in a league like U-8 and under. You should not be in the box when the keeper does a goal kick too. If he/she passes it to you it's a free kick to the other team. You can't be in the circle of the pitch when a team is kicking off. Otherwise it's a free kick to the other team or a re-do kick off. The last main rule you should know is that you can't kick the ball and then touch it again because that is called: a cheap move. You must hit the ball in front of the center and another player from the other team or your own teammate must touch the ball. There are some more rules to soccer to. If you pass it to your keeper intentionally it's an indirect free kick inside the 18 yd box. That means the opposing team isn't allowed to shoot. A player can't hand it in the box either. If that happens it's a penalty and sometimes you can even get a yellow or red card. A yellow cards like a caution for getting kicked out of the game. A red card is when you are kicked out of the game. If you get two yellow cards you are red carded. A slide tackle or a push or something to foul a player could get you carded to.

Ricardo Kaká

Ricky Kaka is on Brazil. He wasn't in the game when Brazil beat Italy 2-0. He is good. He is number 10 in this picture, but he is really number 7 right now. He just got off a leg injury on Milan. Kaká has won the player of the year award at least once.

Andrea Pirlo ( AHN-DRAY-AH) (PEER-LO)

Andrea Pirlo plays for the international team Italy. They are in 4th place. Right above Brazil. He is a Defending Mdfeilder. That wouldn't give him many goals unless he scored every free kick. He has scored a penalty. He's also had some assists. He assisted Fillipo Inzaghi's 300th goal of his career. That is a big accomplishment. He doesn't seem like a player with the ball a lot on Milan, but on Italy he reieves the ball a lot. Unfortunately Italy lost to Brazil 2-0 and just tied Ireland 1-1. They target to win the fifa. Italy has won the fifa 4 times and are targeting to win the fifa in 2010 for the fifth.

David Beckham

David Beckam is probably the most famous soccer player in the world. He is known for bending a soccer ball. I know other people could bend a ball before Beckham, but I don't know why they say bend it like Beckham. He plays for the 9th place team England, the 3rd place team AC Milan, and the 5th place team in his group LA Galaxy. Beckham is temporarily on a loan to Milan. There was a big fight with AC Milan coach and LA Galaxy coach whether Backham cou;d go to Milan, but he managed to stay with Milan until the end of the season.

Fernando Torres

Fernando Torres is one of the greatest players in the world, well, in my opinion of course. He is playing for the first place team Spain and his other team, Liverpool may come back to first over Manchester United. They are on point away. He has scored lots of goals at lots of times where he saved his team. It was Liverpool( second) vs Chelsea( third) and nando Torres score at the 89 and 90th minute. Those are basically the last minutes of the game. He got the three points and kept Chelsea in third and increased Liverpool's chances of regaining the first place seat.
